Birthing Sense

Birthing Sense DVD collection

I was recently given the opportunity to view the Birthing Sense DVD collection.
It comprises of a set of three DVD's packed with individual interviews from health care professionals, therapists to Grandma and Grandpa!
There is no Hollywood production but this adds to its appeal in the fact that it is real. The people are the people you would meet in every day life. There's no showbiz just down to earth advice and choice.
The format is more functional than flicking through a book. Have you ever tried to tie a baby wrap from pictures in a book - it just doesn't work!!
All aspects of birth are covered with even a section for new Dads who are frequently forgotten in the process.

I would recommend this DVD collection to those expecting or planning for children. It helps take away some of the mystery and fear from the birthing process allowing you to actually enjoy it.

Book - ‘The Power of Tapping’ by Margaret Munoz

I was aware of EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques but I didn’t know much about Energy Therapy prior to reading Margaret Munoz’s book – ‘The Power of Tapping’. The book is really easy to read and the author very open about her introduction to EFT and how she has used it. You can appreciate that this is something she fully believes in. The majority of the contents outline the uses of EFT in various situations, from a visit to the dentist to dealing with traffic jams! There are so many situations where EFT can be used to affect our behaviour and actions. The testimonial experiences from ‘tapping converts’ are quite inspirational. I think everyone who reads this book will give tapping a go, even whilst turning the pages. I couldn’t stop myself!
Most of all though it emphasised to me the true power of the human mind.

Book - 'The Self-Healing Human' by Dr Sanna Ehdin

Dr. Ehdin’s writings about the healing abilities of the human body are articulate and persuasive, bringing forth a powerful relevance to the world in which we live, and how we are living in it. I have enjoyed this book because I too believe that there is a great potential within our bodies to self heal. Dr. Ehdin’s extensive knowledge of worldwide healing arts is impressive, and her appreciation of energy will resonate with all ‘healers’. Over generations as a society we have become increasingly detached from our bodies, and here is a piece of work that will empower any person who has the intention to self-heal.

Introductory Course in Holistic Kinesiology - with Xanthe Pearson in Sydney

Xanthe is a Holistic Kinesiology Practioner who qualified from the College of Complementary Medicine in Sydney.
The course is set in a beautiful garden room in Bondi and I was lucky enough to be invited along to the most recent date.
I didn’t have a great knowledge of Kinesiology prior to attending the course but I had listened to other peoples experiences of and with Kinesiology and wanted to get the lowdown for myself from an experienced practitioner and teacher.
Xanthe certainly holds a strong passion for Kinesiology that emanates throughout the course. She has a genuine belief in the therapy and its results combined with a vast knowledge of the subject area and the field of wellbeing and health in general. Xanthe outlined how Kinesiology works in relation to the 7 main chakras, the Five Chinese elements (Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal) and we even had chances to practice ourselves whilst under supervision.
You don’t have to have a therapy based background to attend this course. However, even experienced therapists or practioners may be able to take away new ideas back to their area of work.
After the three day introductory course you can also attend a workshop evening where you can meet the students who are currently studying for the Kinesiology diploma at the Complementary College of Medicine. This is a great opportunity to hear these students experience with Kinesiology and perhaps take your interest one step further.
